The maximum speed of free fall is 190 km/h or 118 miles per hour. However, if a person walks at this speed for an hour, they will experience pain in their feet, ankles, knees, and hips. The speed of free fall in water is around 120 miles per hour. This means that a human can walk at an average speed of about 0.2 m (0.6 ft) per minute. We call this "terminal velocity" since it stops speeding up. In the absence of air resistance, all objects fall with constant acceleration. For example, the average human walking speed is about 1.8 m/s (3.3 km/h). With equal forces in opposite directions, the net force on the ball is zero and it stops speeding up. The rock reaches the ground 10s after it is thrown. The rock is thrown upward with a speed of 15m/s.
